Saginaw Township officials in the U.S. state of Michigan have come up with an ordinance of crossing out lingerie terms such as “bikini” and even lingerie in its sexually-oriented business regulations. However, this move has met with opposition from business owners, especially those who are operating bikini bars.

A lawyer representing Tini Bikini’s Bar & Grill said that the ordinance simply targeted them. Grosse Pointe Farms lawyer David Draper said that the law is “unconstitutional” and “vague.”

The establishment plans to launch at a vacated building previously owned by RJ’s Grill & Brew at 3140 Bay.

Saginaw Township Supervisor Tim Braun denied the allegations. Draper said that Tini Bikini’s Bar & Grill will feature female dancers wearing bikinis, fishnet stockings and G-strings while dancing on a stage with a pole but that’s the extent of the business.

The Township Board of Trustees will start discussing and reviewing the issue this week.
